A very busy weekend was had by some of the NWA members who travelled to Brisbane to promote Noosa as a wedding destination at the Bridal Expo. Our Noosa Wedding Association stand looked fantastic and was very well received by Brides and Grooms who will now hopefully be considering having a Noosa Wedding.

Thanks must go to Katrina, Nick, Corrine, Kim, Nicole, Lindy, Jason, John, Rebecca, Jacqui and special thanks to Julia who stayed for the whole weekend.
Dear Kim and the Noosa Wedding Association,
Congratulations.
As you know, I was a volunteer on the Noosa Wedding Association stand at the Wedding Expo in Brisbane over the weekend - what a success!
Not only was the stand superbly presented, showing off Noosa and the Assoc but both the booklet and the 'Noosa Bride' competition generated a lot of positive interest throughout the day.
At the end of the day I left having had a great experience and also knowing it was 'GOOD FOR BUSINESS', both for Noosa and the Association. Well Done!!
Kind regards,
John

We are pleased to announce that Tourism Noosa has gratefully provided the Noosa Wedding Association Inc with the funds for us to exhibit at the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo next weekend.
A proposal was provided by the Association to the tourism body who have advised that “We’re glad to be able to support the group’s attendance at the expo and look forward to further opportunities to work together.”
This is a huge win for the Association, especially as we have achieved most of our objectives and goals in a short 8 months, with more plans on the horizon to showcase Noosa to the world!!
Without your support in being part of the Association, we would never have been able to achieve such milestones. So thank you so much for being part of a wonderful conglomeration of Wedding Professionals.
And a HUGE thank you to Tourism Noosa for believing and trusting in us to be the face of Noosa Weddings.

Tourism Noosa is highly supportive of the Noosa Wedding Association Inc and will be working in partnership with them to put Noosa in the spotlight as a destination of choice for anyone looking to get married.

Following the launch of the Noosa Wedding Association Inc, Tourism Noosa recently convened a representative group of members working in the wedding sector to provide advice and feedback on how we can better position the weddings section of our website to attract more weddings to Noosa. As a result of this highly engaging workshop, Tourism Noosa currently undertaking a redevelopment of the weddings section of the site and expect to launch the updated site in early August so look out for more details.

Noosa weddings
11:00a.m. 10th July 2009 By Blythe Seinor (Sunshine Coast Daily - Friday
Here comes the bride... to Noosa, with 150 of her closest, cashed-up friends.
It is no secret that weddings are big business, and now Noosa operators have a plan to lure more wedding money to the area.

Photographers, dress shops, venues and caterers have united to form the Noosa Wedding Association, to market Noosa as the number one destination in Australia to say "I do".
President Kim Eibrink Jansen said while Hamilton and Hayman Island still had a strong hold on the marriage market, about 30 weddings were held in the Noosa area every week. Each attracted about 150 guests.
"Most stay for a week and they have to get from the airport, then stay somewhere, eat out, go shopping, do tours," Ms Eibrink Jansen said.
"It's quite a big industry and no one really knows how big."
Ms Eibrink Jansen said the Noosa Wedding Association planned to work out exactly how much money was injected into the local economy from weddings.
"Once we get those figures it might assist the industry to be able to lobby government bodies for funding as well, to promote the region," Ms Eibrink Jansen said.
In the meantime, Ms Eibrink Jansen said the association planned to market Noosa in national campaigns "as a uniform group, rather than (individual operators) trying to achieve something on their own".
Initial marketing would be funded through the association's membership fees, which would be paid by the operators. Ms Eibrink Jansen said despite the economic doom, the wedding industry continued to thrive.
"People are still spending the same amount of money, weddings are not affected too much," she said.
"That's another bonus – if we attract more weddings to the region, even if there are economic issues in the world we shouldn't be affected too much because this is a stable industry."
The Noosa Wedding Association launched at Trio's on the River.
